Maritza Alvalle of Springfield has received the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Boston chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), The Peabody Companies announced.
The CPM is IREM’s flagship professional credential for property managers. It is awarded after candidates complete an accredited programme and demonstrate a defined set of competencies. The process typically takes several years.
Alvalle joined The Peabody Companies in September 2016 and is director of portfolio operations at Powdermill Village in Westfield, where she leads strategy and residential operations.
“Congratulations to Maritza for attaining this high level of achievement, one that takes multiple years and significant discipline and work to earn,” said Erin Simas, learning and development manager at The Peabody Companies. “The CPM credential underscores Maritza’s industry knowledge and commitment to excellence, and also provides a platform for new opportunities.”
The Peabody Companies, based at 536 Granite Street, Braintree, is marking its 50th year. Founded in 1976 and led by Melissa Fish-Crane and Karen Fish-Will, the group includes Peabody Properties, Peabody Resident Services, Peabody Supportive Housing, Peabody Real Estate and Peabody Miami. It is an Accredited Management Organization (AMO) and manages more than 16,350 housing units across New England, with additional properties in New Jersey and Florida.
Peabody Properties handles day-to-day management. Peabody Resident Services develops supportive programmes for affordable housing communities.
The firm is a Women Business Enterprise certified by the Massachusetts State Office of Minority and Women Business Assistance. It appeared on the 2023 National Affordable Housing Management Association Affordable 100 list and was named a Boston Globe Top Place to Work in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2024.
