St. Augustine’s Hospital area in Chirang declared containment zone

Kokrajhar: The St. Augustine’s Hospital situated at Chapaguri under Dhaligaon police in Chirang district has been declared containment zone following detection of several COVID-19 positive cases in the hostel of nurses and staff.

Chirang District Magistrate, Gautam Talukdar on Saturday issued the order under the Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 in the interest of maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the area. In the order, Circle Officer, Sidli Revenue Circle has been directed to seal the area immediately for prohibiting any unauthorized entry and exit including unauthorized plying of vehicles in that notified containment zone till the area is declared safe as per the guidelines of Ministry of Health and and Family Welfare,  Government of India. It has also directed the Circle Officer, Sidli Revenue Circle for strict enforcing of all statutory and other directions of health department in the area.

Any violation of this order will attract  action under the provision of the Assam COVID-19 Regulations, 2020, The Disaster Management Act, 2005, The Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other relevant laws in force, the order further stated. The order has been come into force from Saturday and would remain until further order.
