Students of BHIS Santacruz Celebrated Hindi Diwas with Passion

Mumbai: Billabong High International School, (BHIS) Santacruz, Mumbai observed Hindi Diwas on 14 September with fervour. Not only students but also teachers participated to spread the message about the importance of the Hindi language. Various activities like poems, dances, stories based on idioms/proverbs, skits, quizzes etc. were organised in a special assembly conducted by the schools to mark the importance of the day.

Selective students from grade 1 to grade 10 participated to celebrate the day. The students have been celebrating this virtually for the past two years due to the pandemic. Every grade student participated in activities such as riddles, story narration, poems etc. The show stopper act was a small skit called ‘Mere sapno ki bhasha Hindi’.

Shahdaab Khan, a Grade 7 student of BHIS Santacruz, said, “I am grateful to be born in a country like India where there are 121 languages and 270 mother tongues. Hindi is one such language that is spoken and understood across the country. The event was conducted successfully under the guidance of our principal, Nikhat Azam. We got the chance to know more about the importance of this day and why it is observed across the country.”

Nikhat Azam, Principal of BHIS Santacruz, said, “All our students from grade 1 to 12 celebrated Hindi Diwas in high spirits. The celebration helped students to know the importance of the Hindi language. Like last year this year, too various activities were present by the students.”
