Pandharpur: As part of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Sumeet Group Enterprises have undertaken a large-scale cleanliness drive in the holy town of Pandharpur during the Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage.
The initiative will span approximately two weeks, beginning a week before the arrival of the Wari from Pune and continuing for a week after the departure of the Warkaris following the Ashadhi Ekadashi celebrations.
A dedicated team of nearly 1000 personnel has been deployed to maintain cleanliness across key public areas, including the temple premises, all major roads leading to the temple, covering an area of approximately 100 acres as well as the banks of the Chandrabhaga River.
The team’s responsibilities include sweeping roads, collecting and segregating waste, ensuring proper disposal of garbage, and creating awareness among pilgrims and local residents about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and responsible waste management during the pilgrimage.
During his visit to Pandharpur to review preparations for the Ashadhi Wari, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde, took note of the cleanliness initiative. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of the sanitation workers and commended Sumeet Group Enterprises for its meaningful contribution towards maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for the lakhs of devotees visiting the holy town.
