The DMK in Tamil Nadu has announced Na.Pugalendi as its candidate for the Vikkiravandi Assembly bye-election. A statement from the party chief MK Stalin issued today says he would contest in the bye-election with the support of its alliance partners. The sixty six year old Pugalendi is currently the treasurer of the party’s Villupuram Central unit.
The bye-poll bound Nanguneri constituency in the state and Kamraj Nagar in neighbouring Puducherry have been allocated by the party to Congress.
The ruling AIADMK is interviewing the party aspirants who have submitted applications for the three seats to contest.
