It’s a fact, electronic gadgets and handheld communication devices could be hacked with spyware. Mobile phones and tablets of “preferred” individuals were often found targeted by spying softwares. For example Pegasus, the infamous malware, was reportedly detected in the communication devices of selected highly protected personalities in India. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, now Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, had a year ago openly claimed he was a victim of Pegasus “attack”.
But is it possible to attack the human brain or manipulate minds? There is conflicting opinion even from the scientific community. Many with sound scientific knowledge, particularly in quantum mechanics and advanced theories on energy argue “it is possible to manipulate human brains through specially designed malware.” They argue, “If your electronic gadgets like mobile phone, tablet, computer can be bugged and hacked, the human brains can also be attacked using specifically created “energy weapons”. Their point is “for medical diagnostics scanning and mapping of the brain are done and that’s also a kind of intrusion into the privacy of our brain.”
Paul Li, a lecturer of cognitive science at the University of California has in an article relating to functions of the brain says “recently researchers have identified certain regions of the brain that become hyperactive during a panic attack. These regions include the amygdala, which is the fear center of the brain, and parts of the midbrain that control a range of functions, including our experience of pain. A study performed by scientists at the Wellcome Trust Center for Neuroimaging at University College London used functional MRI to locate which specific brain regions kick in when a person senses an imminent threat. They found activity in an area of the midbrain called the periaqueductal gray, a region that provokes the body’s defensive responses, such as freezing or running.”
Do such findings indicate “that brain cannot be insulated from external manipulations?”
In fact, there are a few people heard complaining about being “targetted” and manipulated by unknown/unidentified forces. They believe some strange external forces are “destabilising their thoughts and instilling fear and panic” through manipulating the brain. These people themselves address them as “Targeted Individuals or TI.
Anna Maria (not real name), a lady in her mid-thirties, working abroad as a financial analyst and now back in Kerala claims she is a TI and “victim of v2k attacks.” Anna says that some anonymous forces are targeting her and “trying to eliminate her using DEW.” (V2K stands for Voice to Skull, a theory that claims sounds or voices can be transmitted directly into the head using microwaves. DEW stands for Directed energy weapons which use concentrated electromagnetic energy to combat enemy forces and assets. These weapons include high energy lasers and other high power electromagnetics).
A month back another TI identified herself as Reena Chacko from Kochi called me on phone and narrated “the terrifying electronic attack” on her which was “life threatening.” Later, she sent me a series of whatsapp messages detailing the “frightening attacks” on her while she was working abroad and after back in India. Reena said that she was employed with a foreign bank in Australia and had to quit the job, thanks to “the unrelenting cyber-attacks and gang stalking.”
Reena is an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India} and has worked as “HR Executive worked for Department for child protection And COVID 19 Department alongside the directors of varied Department for the State.”
Narrating the torment she said, “I got gang stalked and tortured by microwave technology, overseas. With the assistance of a few people overseas I managed to return safely back to India and hoped I could restart my life. But sadly I am being Gang stalked and attacked by v2k here in Kerala also.”
Explaining her current plight in anguish, Reena said, “It’s been years since I have taken up a job and I have lost my human rights and privacy as a victim (of V2K).” According to her there are hundreds of thousands of individuals who are victims of such attacks and they have classified themselves as “Targeted Individuals (TI)”.
Reena said complaints were lodged with the Police at various levels and district administration, but no action was contemplated till now.
However, Dr Joe Pierre MD, Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in his article published in Psychology Today labels the attacks described by TI, as “a belief that is contradicted by objective evidence or is at variance with what most other people believe and that is typically preoccupying, held with extreme and unassailable conviction, and influences one’s behavior to a significant degree.”
Psychologists/psychiatrists are of the opinion that “those who are victims of such false notions that they are being under electronic surveillance and mind manipulation should be immediately treated for psychosomatic disorders.” As Dr Joe says “Mistrust, Misinformation, and Motivated Reasoning.”
Quoting “research papers” Tarun, an IT professional who has emigrated from US to Hyderabad argue that his “fears (on getting targeted) is not out of any imagination,” but from personal experiences. “There are V2K tools to manipulate the brain and mind. V2K device is a weapon used for transmitting voices with low or high frequencies. Voices can be for commands or harassments attacks that may look like the TI’s own voice. V2K can also be used to induce or manipulate dreams or to deprive sleep.” Tarun also claims to be a TI.
While health scientists and psychotherapy experts dismiss the attacks by V2K tools and DEW are illusion or delusion, the victims need to be given immediate psychological treatment before it turns into schizophrenia.
However Reena says, “Victims (TIs) are not delusional; they are being forced to look like they are delusional or have psychological problems so that their case can be dismissed. Ultimately the victims will get branded mentally unstable. The society is likely to isolate these victims and finally they end up committing suicide. I have come across many such cases. This is a worldwide crime Genocide all for the purpose of high tech competition and varied hidden departments to earn money. I would rather call it blood money as they kill people slowly and then steal their assets/ savings and during their lifetime their brain data is being sold. Human trafficking would be the right word.”
Reena further said, “as a Victim I have decided to fight back and expose this crime come what may. People laugh, mock and insult me. But as I know the facts and speak out of my experiences I do not fear. I truly hope the media would join in with the public to expose this evil business. These are businesses of CRIME. …I am stalked everywhere. Even at the place I reside now. But I have decided to fight till the end. I choose to fight back. I don’t care even if they threaten me or declare as mentally unsound.”
Reena said that there were attempts on her life from unknown attackers. “They try to hit me by truck several times. They are trying their best to silence me. I am100 percent sure they are using technology to torture me physically and emotionally.”
She was also critical of the “attitude of the media” towards such targeted attacks. Narrating one of her encounters with a news channel Reena said “it was terrible…I ended up in tears…not because I was scared but because I realized they (the media) were trying to earn out of us(TIs). From our pain and tears…”
She “hope the larger media (serious journalists) who have ethics,” at least “will not mock and disgrace us.”
Reena further lamented, “They should realise that we (TIs) are also humans and bonafied citizens. We have our constitutional rights. It is the duty of the protectors of the Constitution to protect us from the violators of the Constitution.”
Another “victim” who belongs to the group of TI said, “isolating someone from the whole society itself makes anybody crazy. All they wanted to prove is, am crazy.. so that they can harm the way they want.. It’s depressing and frustrating.. Is there any remedy to prevent ( targetting)? I am in contact with a group of TIs in India who are strongly fighting to create awareness of this crime in and force the government to take necessary actions (against the perpetrators).”
According to a TI there are many millions across the globe who are victims of “targeted gang stalking.” As per a TI who requested privacy said “in India alone there may be more than a million such victims. But our complaints are seldom listened to by the authorities and many times we are labelled as mentally derailed or even classified schizophrenic.”
There could be divergent views on the alleged stalking and targeting. Since the number of “victims” of cyber bullying is swelling the authorities need to consider probing the veracity of the allegations from the TI community. For, any such attack amounts to human rights violation and also a criminal act. It’s a threat to the right to live. It’s a a breach of privacy of the individual, punishable under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The victims urge protection from the governments and demand “creation of a statutory panel to investigate the attack and provide backing to victims.” They urge the elected representatives “to present our case in the Parliament, state Assemblies and take proactive initiatives to enact stringent laws to prevent illegal surveillance, cyber-attacks and gang stalking activities.”
