Guwahati: Congress leader and former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has also been infected with the corona virus. His corona test is positive. He himself informed about this by tweeting. Gogoi wrote in the tweet, “My corona report came positive yesterday. Those who came in contact with me during the last few days should immediately go for corona test.Earlier, Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta and Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu have also been found to be corona infected. Before the BJP came to power in 2016, Tarun Gogoi had been the Chief Minister for 15 years. Gogoi has been traveling continuously for the last few days to return the Congress to the state in view of Assam Assembly Election 2021. Tarun Gogoi represents the Titbor seat in the Assam Legislative Assembly. He had said on Saturday that he would contest the next election, but neither he nor his MP son Gaurav would be a possible CM candidate of the Congress. Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief perfume businessman Badruddin Ajmal has recently aligned against the ruling party for the upcoming election.
