Team of officers will go to see the works of urban development in other states

Bhopal:  A team of officers will be sent to see the innovation and development works being done in the field of urban development in other states of the country. On the basis of the report of this team, the implementation of schemes in the state will be considered. The work of garbage collection in Andhra Pradesh is exemplary. Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh said this while felicitating the urban bodies in the Swachhata Prerna Workshop and “Swachhta ki Bauniyaad” campaign. Shri Singh said that with the objective of giving continuity to the cleanliness drive, it has been decided to evaluate and honour the urban bodies in  every three months.

Will be honoured by CM next time

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh said that urban bodies would be honoured by Shri Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the ranking to be done after the next three months. He said that now only the state level category will remain. There will be no divisional level category.

Priority in promotion on good ranking

Shri Singh said that along with Swachh Survekshan, the officers and employees of the bodies who get better ranking in other development works will also be considered for promotion. He said that there should be proper development of cities. Along with cleanliness, other development works should also be done. Evaluation should also be holistic.

Shri Singh said that work with the resolve that the cities should be clean, green and citizens should be healthy. He said that budget would be made available to urban bodies for other facilities like MRF, FSTP and composting units.

Amrit and Swachh Bharat Mission Phase-2 from October 2

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh said that the Central Government will launch AMRUT and Swachh Bharat Phase-II from next 2nd October. He said that Jal Jeevan Mission has started. Shri Singh said that all the urban bodies should prepare a project in this regard in advance. He informed that the state is making remarkable achievements in various schemes. Street vendor is second in phase-1 and first in phase-2. In Phase-2, Sagar is at number-1 in Madhya Pradesh.

Workshop of officers will be held

Shri Singh said that a workshop would be organised for the officers of the urban bodies, in which their suggestions regarding the difficulties being faced at the ground level would be obtained. He said that many municipal corporations have done good work, besides honouring them it would be ascertained why some have not done good work.

In the programme, Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Singh released the cleanliness songs of urban bodies Maihar, Datia and Jabalpur and poster of Swachh Survekshan-2022.

Principal Secretary Shri Manish Singh said that apart from strengthening the infrastructure in the cleanliness campaign, citizens should also be involved in it. Analyse the status of the disease in the cleanest wards. He said that the cities of the state are being discussed in the country and abroad in the matter of cleanliness.

Commissioner Urban Administration and Development Shri Nikunj Kumar Srivastava said that the survey for Swachh Survekshan-2022 will be conducted in January. For this prepare thoroughly from now on and get a better rank than last time. He said that the work you are doing, make it accessible to the public through social media and other means. He said that management, operation and maintenance of material recovery facility, faecal sludge treatment plant, composting units etc. are the points that have been made the basis in the evaluation of the bodies. 36 urban bodies of the state have been selected for a total of 71 honours. 29 state level and 42 division level awards have been given. Mission Director Shri Gaurav Baijal informed about the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission.

State level result

In Municipal Corporation category, Chhindwara stood first, Khandwa second and Sagar third in faecal sludge treatment plant. In material recovery facility, Singrauli stood first, Ratlam second and Dewas third. In composting unit, Singrauli got first rank, Chhindwara was second and Ratlam was on the third rank. Among the municipal corporations Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ujjain have been kept out of this category.

In municipal category, Pandhurna and Pithampur got first rank in faecal sludge treatment plant, Ashoknagar got second and Nagda got third rank. In material recovery facility, Narsinghpur got first rank, Dhanpuri and Pithampur got second and Damua got third rank. In composting unit, Khachrod got first, Damua second and Chhatarpur got third rank.

In Municipal Council category, Sailana got first rank in faecal sludge treatment plant (FSTP), Shahganj got second and Pipliya Mandi got third rank. In material recovery facility (MRF), Shahganj got first rank, Pipliya Mandi got second and Mungaoli got third rank. In composting unit Sailana got first rank, Athana second and Pipliya Mandi got third rank.

Division Level Result

In Municipal category in Narmadapuram division, Sarni got first rank in FSTP, Seoni-Malwa in MRF and Betul in compost unit. Ashoknagar has got first rank in all three categories in Gwalior division, Pithampur has got first rank in all three categories in Indore division. In Jabalpur division, Pandhurna in FSTP, Narsinghpur in MRF and Damua got first rank in compost unit. Sidhi has got first rank in FSTP in Rewa division. Dhanpuri got first rank in MRF in Shahdol division, Naugaon in FSTP in Sagar division, Chhatarpur in MRF and compost unit and Nagda in FSTP and MRF in Ujjain division and Khachrod in compost unit.

Shahganj in Bhopal division and Betul Bazar in Narmadapuram division got first rank in all three categories in Municipal Council category. In Gwalior division, Lahar got first rank in FSTP and compost unit and Mungaoli in MRF. In Indore division, Anjad has got first rank in FSTP, Chhanera in MRF and Hatod in compost unit. Lakhnadaun got first rank in FSTP in Jabalpur division, Patan in MRF, Dindori in compost unit, Rampur Baghelan got first rank in MRF in Rewa division. Khajuraho got first rank in FSTP in Sagar division and Devendra Nagar in MRF and compost unit. Sailana got first rank in FSTP and compost unit in Ujjain division and Pipliya Mandi in MRF.
