In Telangana, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has asked the official machinery to be on high vigilance to ensure that tanks and lakes in Hyderabad city are not breached due to heavy rains and flash floods. He directed the irrigation and Hyderabad Local officials to form 12 Special Teams to examine the tanks in the city and take the necessary action to prevent any untoward incident.
Hyderabad received unprecedented heavy rains in the last hundred years resulting in flooding of several residential colonies.
Meanwhile, a Central Team will visit the rain-hit Telangana tomorrow to assess the damages.
