In Telangana, election schedule for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been announced. Polling for the 150-ward Corporation will be held on 1st of December through the ballot system. State Election Commissioner C. Parthasarathy announced this at a press conference in Hyderabad today.
The reservation of wards under various categories will continue as they were in the last elections. The nominations will be received within a span of three days from tomorrow. The tenure of the present body will come to an end in February next year.
The GHMC election is crucial for all political parties as it houses the state capital with about one crore population and ever expanding corporation limits.
