Katana, Bengaluru’s contemporary casual izakaya-inspired dining and bar is bringing a special one-day menu with That Dumpling Girl, a boutique chef-led kitchen by Megha Polali on 23rd July, 2026. This exclusive menu focuses on bringing warmth, generosity and craft, where dumplings are not just dishes, but a shared experience at the table.
Self-taught and driven by curiosity, Megha began her culinary journey after relocating to India, where she found herself missing the comforting flavours of restaurants like Din Tai Fung. What started as an attempt to recreate the dumplings she loved at home soon evolved into a brand celebrated for its handmade dumplings, wontons, ramen, fried chicken, rice bowls, and artisanal cookies and doughnuts. Today, That Dumpling Girl continues to create handmade food that feels comforting, generous, and meant to be shared.
The guests are welcomed with warm steamed bao buns served with Whipped Ginger Scallion Butter and House Chilli Crisp to set the tone for the evening. The curated menu includes handmade chilli oil prawn wontons, delicate ginger chicken wontons, and classic steamed pork or chicken, shiitake dumplings. It also highlights her signature dish, the cream cheese and water chestnut dumplings, paired with roasted tomato relish and mango green chilli salsa. The menu features a range of small bites like the crispy- golden Prawn Toast Sliders and the japanese style Shimeji Mushroom served with Wasabi mayo. If you’re craving comforting bowls, the menu features customizable Ramens and Dumplings in Broth bowls.
