National : The Bare Bar introduces Kahaniyan, a festive collection of six handcrafted soaps inspired by the colours, fragrances, rituals and everyday moments of celebration across six cities of Rajasthan. Designed for the festive season and the gifting months that follow, the collection brings together personal memories of Rajasthan in these thoughtful, story-led handcrafted soaps.
Built around the idea that every festival tells the same stories, Kahaniyan draws on the moments that make celebrations familiar across India; getting ready, dressing up, decorating the home and giving thanks. Through the founder’s memories of Rajasthan, each soap captures one such moment, expressed through the colours, motifs and sensory associations of a city. The collection reflects Rajasthan remembered, not recreated, translating the warmth of festive traditions into handcrafted soaps designed to be gifted and enjoyed every day.
The collection features six individual soaps, each inspired by a different city of Rajasthan. Kesariya Dunes from Jaisalmer draws on the Golden City’s sweeping sand dunes, setting sun, yellow sandstone architecture, and the vibrant yellows, saffron hues and maroons of genda flowers, complemented by haldi, chandan, ubtan and saffron that evoke the ritual of the festive bath; Gulabi Jharokha from Jaipur takes inspiration from the Pink City’s Hawa Mahal, its pink hues and intricate jharokha windows, the flowing patterns of Leheriya textiles, and the timeless fragrance of rose; Jodhpur Chandni from Jodhpur captures the Blue City’s blue-washed old town illuminated by festive diyas, the blues and greens of peacocks dancing in the monsoon, the artistry of blue pottery, and the evocative scent of gili mitti, the earthiness of rain-kissed soil; and Mogra Mahal from Udaipur reflects the White City’s serene lakes, ivory marble architecture with touches of gold, and the fragrance of mogra and harsingar blossoms offered during evening prayers. Crushed mogra petals and a mogra flower stamp celebrate Rajasthan’s block-printing traditions. Completing the collection are Khus Ki Jaali from Kota, inspired by the intricate patterns of Kota Doria sarees, reflected in the soap’s detailing and golden accents, while its scent evokes the cooling freshness of khus sharbat, and Anar from Bikaner, draws on the city’s red sandstone architecture, the festive symbolism of the pomegranate, and the auspicious colours of haldi and kumkum.
At the heart of Kahaniyan is a gift set featuring four soaps: Kesariya Dunes, Gulabi Jharokha, Jodhpur Chandni and Mogra Mahal, arranged in an illustrated gift box. Each soap captures a moment in a festival day, moving from the ritual bath at dawn to dressing up during the day, lighting the home at dusk and offering prayers at night. The gift set also includes a story card that talks about the inspiration behind this idea.
The collection is designed to extend beyond a single occasion. Rather than being limited to Diwali, Kahaniyan is intended for the wider festive season, including Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Eid, weddings, housewarmings and other gifting occasions. The four-soap gift set offers a way to share the collection, while all six soaps are also available individually for those who want to discover a particular story or choose a personal favourite.
The Kahaniyan Festive Gift Set is priced at ₹1,599, while the six individual soaps are priced at ₹449 each for 85gm. The collection will be available on The Bare Bar website.
“Growing up in Rajasthan, I experienced festivals through vibrant colours, familiar scents and the little details of everyday life. With Kahaniyan, I wanted to bring those memories to life through six handcrafted soaps inspired by Rajasthan’s cities, traditions and festive spirit. This collection is close to my heart, a little piece of where I grew up, made by hand. No two bars are alike, and each carries a story of its own.”, said Radhika Mukhija, Founder, The Bare Bar.
