Regional physicians can access the most advanced diagnostic imaging technologies without having to build their own digital infrastructure from scratch.
The Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine of the Moscow Health Department has celebrated its 30th anniversary. The milestone was announced by Sergei Sobyanin in his official Max messenger channel.
The Center provides 24/7 support to city clinics and analyzes more than 180,000 CT, MRI, mammography, and X-ray studies each week. Physicians can remotely access imaging reports or obtain expert opinions from colleagues.
Since 2020, artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms have been integrated into the interpretation of these studies. Over six years, more than 200 AI services have been tested, and 70 services across 45 clinical areas are currently available to radiologists. These tools assist in detecting signs of oncological, cardiovascular, and other pathologies; however, the final diagnostic decision remains the responsibility of the specialist.
The Center not only develops new technologies but also trains diagnostic imaging professionals. It offers continuing professional education programs, postgraduate studies, and residency training.
Particular attention is devoted to the technical and radiation safety control of equipment, which is essential for ensuring patient safety and high-quality diagnostics.
Today, the Center’s developments have become part of the country’s unified digital healthcare ecosystem. In 2024, following instructions from Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Center developed the federal digital platform “MosMedAI,” enabling physicians in the regions to use the most advanced technologies without having to create their own digital infrastructure from scratch. More than 2,000 medical organizations from 75 regions of Russia have already connected to the platform.
