Mumbai : The Fern Hotels & Resorts, Series by Marriott, India’s leading environmentally sensitive hotel chain, marked World Environment Day through a series of sustainability-focused activities conducted across 63 of its properties in India. The initiative brought together hotel teams and guests in meaningful actions aimed at promoting environmental awareness and encouraging greener practices.

As part of the celebrations, over 1,610 saplings were planted across participating hotels, reinforcing the brand’s continued commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible hospitality. In addition, teams prepared 500+ seed bombs to encourage green cover and support local biodiversity efforts.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director, The Fern Hotels & Resorts, said: “At The Fern Hotels & Resorts, sustainability is not limited to a single day, it is deeply embedded in the way we operate. The activities conducted across hotels included plantation drives, clean-up drives and seed bomb preparation, with employee engagement and guest participation at the centre of the initiative. To further build awareness around environmental responsibility, hotel teams tied green ribbons on team members as a symbolic gesture of commitment towards sustainability.

Extending the initiative to guests, hotels also served a green-coloured welcome drink while distributing seed bombs, encouraging visitors to take a small yet meaningful step towards contributing to a greener environment.

The initiative reflects The Fern Hotels & Resort’s continued focus on balancing guest experiences with responsible environmental practices. Through simple yet impactful actions, the brand continues to encourage long-term sustainability while strengthening community engagement across locations.
