The Heritage College, Kolkata organized “Econova 2025” – A Grand Celebration of Economics and Innovation

Kolkata: The Heritage College, Kolkata successfully organized Econova 2025, its flagship economics fest, on the 29th and 30th of April. The two-day event brought together students, academicians, and thought leaders from across the region to engage in a vibrant exchange of ideas on economics, innovation, and sustainability. Around 50 colleges from Bengal participated in the event to make it a grand success.

Econova 2025 featured a diverse array of activities, including paper presentations, panel discussions, quizzes, debates, and creative competitions, all centered around contemporary economic issues and global challenges. The event served as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their analytical and creative skills while networking with peers and professionals. Moreover Sidhu, the legendary rock band performer from Cactus Band was present as a judge to judge the rock band competition at Econova participated by the  students from various colleges.

The highlight of the fest was a keynote address by distinguished economist  Dr. Saibal Kar, RBI Chair Professor of Industrial Economics, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta, Director (Hon.) , Eastern Regional Centre, ICSSR, who spoke on “Economic Growth & Challenges before the Indian Economy,” captivating the audience with insights into the evolving global economic landscape. An erudite panel discussion was also organized on the same topic which was addressed by Prof.(Dr.) Anup Sinha, Former Professor of Economics, IIM Calcutta, Chairman, Bandhan Bank & Chief Mentor, Heritage Business School, Kolkata, Dr. Ajitava RayChoudhuri,

Professor Emeritus and Head, Department of Economics, Adamas University, Dr. Biswajit Mandal, Professor of Economics, Centre for Studies in Social Sciences Calcutta and Dr. Sahana Roy Chowdhury, Professor and Area Chair, Economics, International Management Institute (IMI), Kolkata.

Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Director, The Heritage College, expressed pride in the students’ enthusiasm and the successful execution of the event, stating, “Econova exemplifies our commitment to nurturing critical thinking, innovation, and academic excellence.” Moreover Prof. Souvik Bhattacharyya, Principal Advisor, Higher Education, Heritage Group of Institutions spoke about various innovative solutions developed for human problems in the STEM education.
