GUWAHATI :A vehicle loaded with teak sawn timbers was detected at Bangha in Karimganj on Thursday. Range Officer, Sadar and AFPF personnel seized the vehicle fully loaded with timbers and brought it to the Divisional Forest Office.
During interrogation of the driver, it came to light that the timbers were loaded in Mizoram and passed through Hailakandi district. In another incident that took place on Thursday, forest personnel under Barpeta Road Range detected an illegal band saw mill at Karekun area under Sarbhog Beat Office and brought the machinery and other equipment under its safe custody.
