Mangaldai : Personnel of 37 Battalion SSB with its head quarter at Mangaldoi operating along the Indo Bhutan International border has rescued , an endangered species of Lizard- “Tokay Gecko” from during a naka checking at Tenkibasti .
This has been stated in a press communique received here on Friday. According to the the source the price of each such living Gecko reaches over Rs. 80 lakhs in Indian smuggling markets. Gecko becomes expensive and high in demand after a section of people spread unautheticated information that it is used in medicines to cure people from the HIV and AIDS, the source added.
