Bangalore: Building on the success of prior healthcare initiatives such as, A Behavioural Change Demonstration (ABCD) and Community Health Centre (CHC), Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today announced the continued success of the Toyota Shaale Arogya Program (TSAP) in Ramanagara district, with special focus on child health and community well-being. Initially launched in 2019, TSAP has evolved as an important initiative in TKM’s comprehensive approach to healthcare and hygiene awareness among government school students, considering children are country’s future.

Under TSAP, the students undergo comprehensive medical checkups with focus on early detection and resolution of health issues. The initiative addresses concerns such as  anemia, malnutrition, visual and hearing impairments among school students, and depending on the diagnosis, they are provided with appropriate corrective measures like spectacles, hearing aids, healthcare supplements, or referred to a tertiary healthcare center. In addition, the program has health and hygiene awareness sessions, aimed at equipping students with the knowledge necessary for maintaining good health. So far, this program has reached over 10,000 children in more the 180 schools within Ramanagara district.

Furthermore, TSAP program is also extended to the community through the Health camps. These camps provide an array of medical checks like random blood sugar tests, vision and dental examinations, ECGs, along with the distribution of essential medicines. This program provides health care facilities to the villages making it accessible for all community members. In this current year, TKM has conducted health camps in 18 villages and positively impacting more than 1100 individuals.

Speaking on the initiative, Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “In line with our commitment for community well-being, the Toyota Shaale Arogya Program, alongside our other healthcare endeavors like Community Health Centre and Water Purifications Units reflects our dedication to making a meaningful difference in the lives of community members, especially focusing on the well-being of children, fostering a brighter future. As we navigate the path ahead, our pledge to create a healthier society and nation, remains resolute as we are driven by the belief that sustainable progress begins with the well-being of our children and communities.”

Demonstrating a broader dedication to healthcare, TKM goes beyond the realms of TSAP. Some of the recent initiatives include a Community Health Centre in Bidadi, Karnataka with exclusive oxygen-generating plant, delivering specialized care. Additionally, school-based health and hygiene programs like ABCD, and installation of water purification units, have significantly enhanced the health outcomes within the community. In the fiscal year 2022-23 alone, TKM made a positive impact of over 65,000 individuals, contributing to a cumulative outreach of more than 11,16,365 individuals.
