Kokrajhar: With the objectives to facilitated the Self Help Groups (SHGs) and local artisans in marketing their products, a meeting with Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India(TRIFED) on marketing of SHG products and local artisans under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM).was held at the conference hall of Urban Development Office in Kokrajhar on Friday.
Organised by City Mission Management Unit (CCMU) under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM) and Kokrajhar Municipal Board, the meeting was attended by Vice chairman of TRIFED Pratibha Brahma and other officials.
Pratibha Brahma said the TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is committed towards the transformation of tribal lives and has been working with the main objective of promoting tribal art and craft for the benefit of tribal artisans of the country. She said a buyer and seller meeting with TRIFED was organised in Kokrajhar with a three days programme so that the tribal artisans can be facilitated to showcase and market their products. She calls upon the local artisans to take benefit of the meeting with the TRIFED and get their products registered. She said around 200 artisans from Kokrajhar are expected to register under TRIFED.
