Hyderabad: Canara Bank and the Department of Culture, Government of Telangana in association with Surmandal is scheduled to organise a 3-day Music and Dance Festival ‘Triveni’, in the city from 5th to 7th January 2024. It will be held at Lalitha Kala Toranam, Public Garden, Hyderabad from 6.30 pm onwards every day.
Surmandal is a group formed by music lovers of Hyderabad way back in 1934. It was founded by the late Shri Mohan Hammadi, who served Indian Hindustani Classical Music for the past so many years. Since then it has been promoting Indian Classical Music uninterruptedly. Surmandal has organised top-notch music events showcasing the beauty and depth of Indian classical music to audiences worldwide.
The three-day programs include a Sitar and Santoor recital by Kum Shruti Katkuri(Sitar) and Kum Shreeja Katkuri(Santoor). They will be accompanied by Shri Vijay Kumar Panchal on Tabla. Following this, a Percussion Melody will be held by Pandit_Yogesh Samsiji at Table, Shri Taufeequ Qureshion Djembe, Satish Patri on Mrudangam and Tanmay Deochake on Harmonium.
On day two on 6th January, at 6.30 pm another interesting and melodious program will be held. At this program, Miss Sunil Mishra, the singer will perform. She will be accompanied by Shri Ajeet Pathak on Tabla and Shri Rahul Deshpande on Harmonium.
On day three on 7th January the final day of the three-day festival, a Carnatic Vocal performance will be held. Master Aditya, a special child with learning disabilities (Autism) who excels in Carnatic Vocals will enthral the audience. This performance will be followed by a Sarod recital by Shri Parthosarathi Choudhary, Senior disciple of Late Pandit Ravi Shankarji. Pandit Yogesh Samsiji will be on Tabla.
