Twin exhibitions of HIMTEX and IPEC concluded

Hyderabad: The three-day twin exhibitions, the 6th Edition of Hyderabad International Machine tool & Engineering Expo (HIMTEX) and India Process Expo & Conference(IPEC) organized with the support from  Govt of Telangana concluded today at Hitex

The expos with 143 exhibitors from across 11 states of India is one of the major exhibitions and the biggest in south India on the subject received an overwhelming response.

According to Mr TG Srikanth, Business Head, Hitex, the organizer of the twin exhibitions, it clocked a record of about 452 one-on-one special organized meetings between buyers and exhibitors. Though we can’t specify the exact details, we can certainly and proudly claim that a huge number of deals have taken place during the three-day fair.   

The representatives of many big companies such as GMR Aerospace, Safron, South Central Railways, BHEL, SKM Technologies, MTAR, Tata Advance Systems, Tata Sikorsky and others visited the trade show. 

The overwhelming response is evident from the fact that nearly 40% of this edition’s exhibitors have rebooked space for the next edition

Mr Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce (I&C) and Information Technology (IT) Departments, Govt of Telangana inaugurated both the exhibitions on Thursday. 

Mr Ranjan at the inauguration told the exhibitors to be quality-oriented, that is the only way to beat the Chinese market as it is still considered the Factory of the World

The theme of the twin exhibitions was “Defence and Aerospace”

Mr K. Shaymsunder, Apprentice Advisor, Govt Industrial Training Institute, Govt of Telangana who has set up the stall said, all companies must provide apprentice training. Apprenticeship is an on-the-job-training system in the industry. We are here with a stall to promote the same. Creating a job-ready workforce is our aim. 

Just like in other sectors, the latest technological advancements are disrupting the machine tool industry, with the increasing integration of 3D printing technology with machine tools. The technological advances in both hardware technology and software applications, and the surge in automation are changing this landscape felt by many speakers who spoke in various sessions held over the last three days.

The twin exhibitions were supported by the Government of Telangana and several industry associations and bodies such as the Indian Institute of Plant Engineers, a 51 years old professional body of plant engineers; Cherlapally Industrial Association, Phase-3, Jeedimetla Industrial Association; Federation of Telangana Small (MSME) Industries Associations (FETSlA), a 68 years old apex body of MSME Associations of Telangana State serving the Micro, Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs; and FTCC, a 105 years old industry body in Telangana.
