Udayan School Of Social Leadership Announces The Udayan Selection BooTCAMP 2026 TO IDENTIFY India’s Next Generation Of Character-Driven Leaders
Pune : In a world increasingly focused on marks, ranks and credentials, the Udayan School of Social Leadership (USSL) is taking a different approach. Through its inaugural Udayan Selection Bootcamp (USB), scheduled from June 15–19, 2026, the institution aims to identify young individuals who demonstrate the qualities of curiosity, resilience, integrity, courage and service that define meaningful leadership.
Hosted at The Wonder School campus in Pune, the five-day immersive bootcamp is designed for shortlisted students aged 15 to 19 years. Rather than evaluating academic performance alone, the program seeks to understand how young people think, respond to challenges, collaborate with others and act when faced with uncertainty.
Drawing inspiration from India’s civilisational traditions of leadership and learning, the bootcamp is built around a simple but powerful belief: every young person possesses the potential to become an “Arjuna.” The qualities that made Arjuna exceptional – focus, discipline, courage, humility, curiosity and commitment to a larger purpose are not extraordinary gifts reserved for a few. They are qualities present in every individual, waiting to be discovered, nurtured and strengthened. The Udayan Selection Bootcamp seeks to identify and cultivate these qualities in the next generation of leaders.
Over the course of five days, participants will engage in a carefully designed sequence of experiences. The journey begins with leadership simulations and decision-making exercises that reveal character under pressure. Students will then tackle complex intellectual challenges with no predefined answers and interact with accomplished scholars who encourage deeper thinking beyond conventional academic frameworks.
The experience continues with an intensive day at an army training facility, where physical challenges test perseverance, teamwork and mental resilience. Participants will also contribute to meaningful community-focused projects through hands-on activities such as preparing food, creating useful resources or developing community spaces. The final day culminates in a personal address where students speak about their values, convictions and commitments for the future.
“The purpose of the bootcamp is not to find perfect students but authentic individuals,” said Anamika Dasgupta, Director, The Wonder School, Pune about the Udayan School of Social Leadership. “We are looking for young people whose curiosity is alive, whose character emerges when challenged, and who are willing to take responsibility for something larger than themselves.”
Students who successfully complete the selection process will become part of the Udayan School of Social Leadership’s distinctive five-year development journey. Rooted in the principles of the Gurukul tradition, Kautilya’s Arthashastra and contemporary leadership practices, the program focuses on developing employability, entrepreneurship, social responsibility and institution-building capabilities.
