ULFA (I) released kidnapped ONGC employee

GUWAHATI : ULFA (I) has released kidnapped ONGC employee Ritul Saikia from his custody. According to reports, Ritul Saikia was released by the organisation Changsa Basti in Mon district of Nagaland on the Indo-Myanmar border. On April 21, 2021, 3 EMPLOYEES of ONGC were kidnapped by ULFA (I) cadres from romanian work-over rig of ONGC. Earlier, two of the three abductors Mohini Mohan Gogoi and Alkesh Saikia were rescued by the Indian Army and Nagaland Police during a joint operation in a village in Som district. But the joint team could not save Ritul Das and he was picked up by ULFA.

The chief minister assured the family members of Ritul Saikia that his government would take all possible steps to save Saikia at the earliest. He said that as per the information available with him, Ritul Saikia was in Myanmar in ulfa (I) captivity and was in good health. Talking to a section of news channels, ULFA (I) Commander-in-Chief Paresh Barua admitted that Ritul Saikia was in his custody and will be released soon. Two other kidnapped ONGC employees Mohini Mohan Gogoi and Alkesh Saikia were rescued after an encounter in Mon district along the Indo-Myanmar border on April 24.
