Uncertainty Continues Over AGP-BJP Alliance,Pramila Declared As BPF Candidate From Kokrajhar

Guwahati : The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Monday evening called a meeting at Phani Bhushan Choudhury’s govt. residence to finalize the party’s stand over AGP-BJP coalition. According to sources, leader Prafulla Kumar Mahanta had left the meeting midway.“We have the ability to fight alone. No decision had been taken yet on the alliance with BJP.”- PK Mahanta said. As per reports, the meeting remained inconclusive; it gave broad hints about the possibility of reaching an understanding of seat sharing in the Parliamentary elections. It may be mentioned that, amidst the uncertainty, the AGP leadership on Sunday declared a list of probable candidates in 13 of the state’s 14 Parliamentary seats.Meanwhile Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma has been declared as the candidate of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) from Kokrajhar for the coming Lok Sabha Elections.The decision was taken during the party’s executive meeting on Tuesday in Baksa district. Notably, BPF is part of BJP’s alliance in the State. Making the announcement BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary also said, “We are sure that PM Narendra Modi will again form the government in the Centre and will take the country to newer heights.”
