 Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the implementation of the Bru refugee agreement with tripura chief minister. Senior central and state government officials were also present on the occasion. During the review, it was revealed that significant progress has been made in implementing the Bru Refugee Agreement signed in January 2020. Under this agreement, people from the Bru community displaced from Mizoram are being rehabilitated in Tripura. There is also a provision to compensate the displaced families under the agreement. So far, more than 37000 people from about 7000 families have been rehabilitated. Apart from this, the process of rehabilitation of other people is also going on. Houses have been constructed for about two and a half thousand people. Aadhaar numbers and voter ID cards are also being issued to these people.On the other hand, Tripura Information and Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the state government will bear an expenditure of Rs 603.89 crore per annum for a total of 3,18,415 beneficiaries under 32 social allowances. Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha had announced an increase of Rs. 1000 in social pension for beneficiaries across the state during the launch of ‘Prati Ghor Shushasan’ (Har Ghar Good Governance). It is being implemented from September, 2022 for 3,18,415 beneficiaries under central and state funded social allowances, Chowdhury said at a press conference at the Civil Secretariat in Agartala.
