47th All India Police Science Congress, AIPSC started from today in Uttar Pradesh”s capital Lucknow. Inaugurating the 2-day event Lieutenant Governor of Puducheri and retired IPS officer Kiran Bedi said that the Mantra of the police system is Justice and courage. She hailed UP Police for maintaining law and order perfectly after the Supreme court verdict and successfully organising Kumbh Mela. She said that now UP has got perfect leadership and resources and it should do good things in policing.
AIR correspondent reports that Uttar Pradesh Police in association with the home ministry and the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) is organising the event at police headquarters in Lucknow.
During the event, there will be discussions in 6 thematic sessions which includes some very contemporary issues like Reforms in Policing, Role of social media in countering radicalization and terrorism and Inculcating right kind of attitudes in police officers
