Dehradun: UPES has taken a major step toward becoming an AI-first university with the celebration of Google Gemini Day on campus and the rollout of 10,100 Gemini Enterprise for Education licences for students and faculty. The initiative aims to meaningfully integrate AI across learning, teaching, research, collaboration and innovation.
The event brought together leaders from Google India, technology deployment partner ParadigmIT, and the UPES community. Attendees included Vaibhav Kumar Srivastava, India Head – EdTechs & Education, Google Cloud (India and SAARC); Aanchal Chopra, Google India; Manoj Bhutani, Google India; and Sridhar Gadhi, CEO and MD, ParadigmIT.
The program featured welcome interactions, leadership discussions, and engagements with students and faculty. Conversations explored the growing impact of generative AI in education, and how enterprise-grade AI tools can unlock new ways for students and educators to experiment, create and solve problems.
As part of Gemini Day, Srivastava conducted a dedicated Google Gemini session for UPES students, including a Q&A. Demonstrations and conversations helped students understand how Gemini Enterprise can be used effectively and responsibly across academic disciplines. The celebration concluded with a symbolic balloon release, marking the next step in UPES’ AI journey.
