UPPL named UG Brahma for Kokrajhar LS constutuencyo

Kokrajhar : The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has named former Rajya Sabha MP and party president Urkhao Gwra Brahma as the party candidate from 5th Kokrajhar constituency (ST) and Pradip Kumar Daimary from Mangaldai constituency for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

The decision was taken during the party meeting in Chirang today which was attended by senior party functionaries and members.

The UPPL president expressed confidence of the party winning the election with majority vote

 It is to be mention that the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has already declared Assam Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma as its candidate from Kokrajhar while the BPF will support its ally BJP and AGP in Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency.

Naba Sarania is the sitting MP of Kokrajhar.

Meanwhile the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has already started its election preparation and formed the central election steering committee of the party with retired principal of Bhaoraguri Higher Secondary School Kiran Basumatary, as chairperson, and Sontola Basumatary, retired principal of Fakiragram College, as the chief convener.

Talking to Reporters, BPF party president Hagrama Mohilary said his party had already announced the name of Assam WPT & BC minister Pramila Rani Brahma as the candidate for 5-Kokrajhar (ST) HPC. Mohilary also stated that by March 20, the BPF would form election steering committee in every assembly constituency. “There were 10 segments in Kokrajhar constituency and the massive election campaign would start from March 25 starting from Gossaigaon, Mohilary said adding that the massive campaign would be held in Mazbat, Rowta and Orang for Mangaldai constituency where his party would support the BJP candidate.

Mohilary expressed confidence that the BPF party would emerge victorious.
