New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Monday accused the ED raid on Chhattisgarh Cong Leadersmwas nothing but political vendetta by Modi government at the Centre. “Since 5 O’clock this morning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), has been raiding our senior colleagues in Chhattisgarh. 5 or 6 of our very senior colleagues have been raided.”
The Congress leader said the raid was “politics of vengeance, politics of harassment and this is supposed to be a curtain raiser for the 85th Plenary of the Indian National Congress. We are not afraid, we have nothing to hide. We will not be intimidated. I have repeatedly said- Mr. Modi’s policy of FDI is- Fear, Deceit and Intimidation. This is his real FDI policy. We will not be afraid, we will not be intimidated and we will not be cowed down.”
Ramesh said that the success of Bharat Jodo Yatra followed by the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan’ and now the 85th Plenary, where about 15,000 delegates are expected to participate, 6 resolutions will be adopted, we have brought about a transformation in Indian politics.
“We have shaken this government; we are asking three questions every day, 14 consecutive days. We have asked questions of the Prime Minister directly on how he has helped Gautam Adani, perpetrate this giant fraud and scam on the people of India.”
He also questioned Prime Minister Modi for being quite on issues of crucial importance. “He is quite on the Chinese incursions. He is quite on the ‘Adani Maha Mega Scam’ and he has unleashed the ED on the Congress Party. Where he needs to unleash the ED, he does not unleash it and of course, those people, against whom the ED has been unleashed in the past, after they have joined the BJP, they have fair and lovely scheme on them and they become innocent, but, our leader of the opposition and Congress President in the Rajya Sabha described and which was later expunged, as the BJP washing Machine.”
