Voltas Appoints Karan Sehgal as Head – Sales, Unitary Products Business

Mumbai : Voltas Limited, a Tata Enterprise, has appointed Karan Sehgal as Head – Sales (Designate), Unitary Products Business Group (UPBG)**. Sehgal joined Voltas on August 3, 2026, and will assume responsibility for the Sales function of the Unitary Products Business effective October 1, 2026.

In his new role, Sehgal will lead sales across Voltas’ Unitary Products portfolio, encompassing **Room Air Conditioners, Voltas Beko consumer appliances, Home Comfort Products and Commercial Refrigeration**. His mandate will focus on accelerating business growth, strengthening distribution and channel partnerships, expanding market reach, enhancing sales effectiveness and driving execution excellence across markets.

Sehgal joins Voltas following a 16-year career with ITC Limited, where he held leadership roles spanning sales, marketing development, category development, distribution and channel management across diverse consumer businesses and markets.

In his most recent role as General Manager – Marketing Development, Sehgal was responsible for marketing development at ITC. Prior to this, as General Manager – Sales & Category Development, he held national responsibility for sales, sales effectiveness and category development for ITC’s core cigarette business, with a mandate spanning sales strategy, go-to-market planning, category development and sales plan delivery.

Over the course of his career at ITC, Sehgal gained extensive experience across large-scale consumer businesses and multiple categories, including **Foods, Personal Care, Home Care and Tobacco**, with exposure to General Trade, Modern Trade, Institutional Business and HORECA. His experience spans sales strategy, go-to-market planning, distribution development, channel management, category growth, sales effectiveness and capability building.

As Branch Manager – Mumbai, Sehgal led ITC’s FMCG businesses across the Mumbai market, with responsibility for sales and distribution across multiple categories and a team of more than 150 employees. Earlier, as **Regional Sales Manager – Foods, West**, he led trade marketing and distribution for ITC’s Foods portfolio across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa. He also served as *National Key Account Manager*, managing strategic relationships with major modern-trade customers including Reliance Retail and Aditya Birla Retail.

His assignments at ITC also gave him significant cross-country operating experience across metro, regional and upcountry markets, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Delhi NCR, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Across these roles, Sehgal has worked at the intersection of consumer demand, sales, distribution and channel development*, leading businesses and teams in complex and highly competitive markets.

Sehgal holds a management degree from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi.

His appointment comes at a time when India’s consumer durables market is evolving rapidly, with rising consumer aspirations, premiumisation, growing adoption of energy-efficient and technology-led products, and changing retail and distribution dynamics. His experience across consumer categories, channels and geographies will support Voltas’ continued focus on strengthening its consumer franchise, deepening market penetration and driving growth across its Unitary Products portfolio.

Sehgal’s appointment is also part of a planned leadership transition within Voltas’ Unitary Products Business. He will work alongside **Jogesh Jaitly, currently Head – Sales, UPBG**, during the transition period. Jaitly is scheduled to retire upon superannuation on *March 31, 2027*.
