Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has called upon the scientists and researchers to address pressing issues of climate change, global warming and extreme weather change to better prepare to tackle adverse situations.
Vice President was interacting with scientists and young researchers of the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) near Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
He said that world is experiencing global warming and its effects in the form of cyclonic storms, intense thunderstorms and droughts adding that it affects the agriculture and economy.
The Vice President called upon scientists to focus on accurately predicting the atmospheric behaviour to address various challenges from climate change to poverty alleviation.
