Western Railway Refutes Viral Claim on Train Halt for Food Purchase

0 6

The Western Railway has debunked a video circulating on social media claiming that an Assistant Loco Pilot stopped the train to purchase food. In a social media post, the Railways has clarified that the train had already been halted at Rau Home signal due to scheduled engineering work in the Rau yard and not for buying food. It said that during the authorized operational halt, the Assistant Loco Pilot was seen purchasing food. The Railways stated that this personal act has been deliberately misrepresented to suggest that the train was stopped for refreshments, which is completely incorrect. It clarified that the video has been falsely linked to a passenger DEMU train, whereas the incident involved a goods train. The Railways said such selective editing and misrepresentation spread misinformation and undermine public trust. It has urged people to verify facts before sharing or amplifying misleading content.
