Winners of various competitions held during State Level Wildlife Week rewarded

Taking inspiration from the various programmes organised in the Wildlife Week, there is a need to create a continuous attachment towards the conservation, promotion and protection of wildlife. This was stated by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and Head of Forest Force Shri Ramesh Kumar Gupta while distributing prizes to the winning participants at the closing ceremony of the State Level Wildlife Week at Van Vihar National Park.

Head of Forest Force Shri Gupta appealed to the students and teachers present in the ceremony that special initiatives need to be taken to include a topic on wildlife in the school curriculum. He stressed on running a campaign to maintain the information of wild animals in the libraries of the schools.

67 winners were awarded

First, second and third prizes and citations were awarded to 67 winners in the Photography, Exhibition, Painting, (Open Category, Senior Category, Junior and Divyang Category), Rangoli (Senior and Junior), Photography (Senior and Junior Category), Mehndi (Open Category), Palm Painting, ‘Just a Minute’ Competition (Senior and Junior), Creative Competition, Fancy Dress and Face Painting Competitions held during the State Level Wildlife Week.

Various books released

Head of Forest Force Shri Ramesh Kumar Gupta released book centered on Bandhavgarh Reserve, Kanha Tiger Reserve, Birds in Madhya Pradesh and poster focused on MP State Online Biodiversity Vision 2021.

On this occasion the premiere show of documentary made on Van Vihar National Park Zoo Bhopal and Sanjay Tiger Reserve was held. Apart from this, the coffee table book of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve was released and website was launched. At the beginning of the programme, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force Shri Gupta administered oath to all about the conservation, promotion and protection of wildlife. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Shri Alok Kumar presented the report of various activities during the Wildlife Week.

Officers-employees rewarded

17 officers-employees working in various tiger reserves and forest divisions of the forest department, selected for the year 2021 by the selection committee, were also rewarded.
