The weapons that the Maoists have are snatched away from the police or supplied on behalf of the north-eastern states. There are many militant outfits in Manipur, Asom and Nagaland in the north-east who smuggle arms from China, etc. Many times, for money, organizations sell these weapons to other parts of the country. Such organizations are large suppliers of modern weapons like AK-47 and Insas for Naxalites.  Intelligence agencies have also said China is supplying arms and ammunition to rebel groups on the Myanmar border, as they have to pay a good price. Training of rebel groups in the northeast, access to arms and ammunition and sheltering deported terrorists and leaders are China’s “bi-terrorism” aspects against India. Chinese weapons supplied through Bangladesh and Thailand make clear that projects undertaken by India in Myanmar are at risk. It provides an alternative land bridge for the Indian Ocean’s trade routes, eases pressure on malacca strat and treasures natural resources for the development of the province of Greece.
