World Pickleball League Season 2 kicks off in glittering style with superstars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Atlee, Riteish Deshmukh, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani

Mumbai: The World Pickleball League (WPBL) Season 2 got underway in spectacular style as some of India’s biggest names, including Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Atlee, Riteish Deshmukh, Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani, clashed on centre court in a first-of-its-kind Celebrity Pickleball Showdown today at Jio World Garden in Mumbai.

The League’s star franchise co-owners joined players from their respective teams, treating fans to a high-energy curtain-raiser that blended sport and entertainment to mark the return of India’s No.1 pickleball league for its second season.

World Pickleball League features seven teams owned by icons from across sport and entertainment, including youth icon Rishabh Pant, Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, alongside Samantha, Rakul-Jackky and Atlee. The league continues to grow in scale and competitiveness, featuring 120 matches across 13 days and 56 elite players from 18 nations.

The World Pickleball League is sanctioned by the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP) and the United World Pickleball Federation (UWPF).

With the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown igniting excitement among fans, World Pickleball League Season 2 now moves into competitive action at Jio World Garden in Mumbai. The league stage begins January 27 with a blockbuster clash between last season’s finalists Bengaluru Jawans and Pune United with the final scheduled for February 8.
