Bengaluru : Yulu, India’s largest shared electric vehicle (EV) mobility technology company, has launched its franchisee-led service in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh under its Yulu Business Partner (YBP) initiative. The service has been rolled out by Tezz Mobility, led by first-generation entrepreneurs Dharamveer Singh Bhadoriya and Siddharth Jain.
The launch, which expands Yulu’s presence in Central India, brings Yulu’s proven hyperlocal electric mobility ecosystem to a city famed for its lakes and cultural heritage. The launch also marks the ninth partner-led rollout of Yulu’s service after successful launches in Indore, Kochi, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Vadodara, Kolkata, Chandigarh Tri-city and Coimbatore.
Bhopal: A Market Ready for EV-Powered Logistics
The rapid growth of quick commerce, food delivery and e-commerce in Bhopal has ramped up demand for efficient last-mile mobility options. Yet, unlike metro cities, this demand is still largely served by generic petrol vehicles instead of purpose-built delivery EVs. The challenge is compounded by limited rental and pay-per-use options, which force delivery partners to buy their own bikes and seek fuel reimbursements. The city also has limited battery charging and electric vehicle service infrastructure, since existing players have been unable to achieve the scale needed for viable EV fleet economics.
Yulu’s platform addresses these gaps through a combination of purpose-built EVs, battery-swapping infrastructure and technology-enabled operations, through which it manages nearly 50,000 vehicles across a dozen cities. In partnership with city-based Tezz Mobility, the company has deployed a city-wide network of strategically located Yulu Zones, a central Operations and Service hub and a robust battery swapping grid through Yuma Energy. The service will leverage Tezz Mobility’s execution, manpower and local knowledge with the long-term goal of making Bhopal a city where 100% of deliveries happen on EVs.
In phase one, Yulu and Tezz Mobility’s service will focus on high-density delivery demand zones including Shahpura before gradually expanding into neighbouring Hoshangabad Road, New Market, TT Nagar, Kolar Road, Habibganj and other areas.
Enabling a New Model for Urban Logistics
Speaking about the launch, Amit Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Yulu, said, “Bhopal represents a strong market opportunity characterised by rising delivery demand and a thriving gig economy. With 45+ dark stores and thriving food delivery activity, the Bhopal market has room for ~8,000 delivery riders. Through our partnership with Tezz Mobility, Yulu is delighted to build a scalable, tech-driven logistics backbone to cater to this demand. Yulu’s proven mobility stack and segment expertise, coupled with Dharamveer and Siddharth’s operational prowess, will accelerate Bhopal’s transition toward a more efficient, sustainable and future-ready mobility ecosystem.”
Elaborating on the partnership, Dharamveer Singh Bhadoriya, Co-promoter, Tezz Mobility, said, “Our previous experience as a supplier to leading quick commerce brands has given us a first-hand understanding of the operational challenges delivery ecosystems face every day. With Yulu’s platform, we are bringing a proven, end-to-end solution that allows Bhopal’s delivery partners to access reliable, affordable and sustainable mobility while helping aggregators to meet their EV commitments from day one.”
Siddharth Jain, Co-promoter, Tezz Mobility, added, “Yulu’s full-stack platform, brand trust and aggregator relationships have enabled Tezz Mobility to reduce our build time from 1.5 years to mere weeks. The Tezz team is excited to transform Bhopal’s mobility landscape. The longer arc is to turn Bhopal into a reference model for every subsequent city.”
To ensure that the service hits the ground running, Yulu conducted a comprehensive training, assessment and onboarding programme for Tezz Mobility’s on-ground team and has also facilitated meetings with key strategic enterprise partners.
Going forward, Tezz Mobility plans to scale its operations to over 1,000 EVs over the next 2-3 years, expanding across Bhopal and other high-potential cities in north and west India.
