SIVASAGAR : More than 40 retired employees of the historic Sivasagar Municipality were deprived of the dues even after ten years of retirement. These retired workers protest against not getting their dues. In front of the Sivasagar municipality office, the gate is closed, slogans such as Municipal Corporation Murdabad, Deputy Mayor Murdabad, release of dues soon, etc. After taking out a rally with placards and banners in hand, they staged a protest in front of the municipal office. Today’s protest programme was attended by Dhiren Saikia, Mani Prasad Mohan, Mofizuddin Ahmed, Rajiv Ahmed, Ammon Borgohain, Ramdhan Gogoi, Arl Bora, Poneshwar Chetia, Shanta Pal Das, Padum Gogoi, Juri Bora, Aarti Gogoi, Aarti Chetia, Mi Na Gogoi, Shakuntala Gogoi, Rumi Das, Minati Das, among others. It is to be noted that several employees who retired from Sivasagar Municipality had to die due to lack of treatment. Even after that, the municipal corporation of Sivasagar municipality does not have a son.Since 2012, more than 40 retired municipal employees each have to pay Rs 10-20 lakh each, but at present, instead of paying attention to the matter, the municipal vice-president and executive officer of the municipality have been reluctant to pay attention to the matter, said retired employees.
