GUWAHATI : The team of Subir Roy and Nirav Mehra has won the Champion award in ‘Expert’ category in fourth edition of Northeast TSD Rally which concluded.In ‘Amateur’ Category, Abhishek Khaitan’s team emerged champion while the team of Lt Col Rina Jha became champion in Women’s category. The teams of SK Anirudh and Lt Col Rina Jha won the 1st and 2nd Runners Up titles in ‘Expert’ category. The team of Samarth Krishna Choudhury and Asjad Ahmed Choudhury won 1st and 2nd Runners Up in ’Amateur’ Category, Snigdha Kemkar’s team won Runners Up in Women’s category.
The rally was organized jointly by Heritage Northeast and Anchal in association with Adian. It is held under the guidance of Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India and technical assistance from Eastern Motorsports. The winners were presented trophies by FMSCI officials Asish Bagchi and Ravi Agarwal, Eastern Motorsports officials Devajyoti Nath and Sanjeev Barua, DY365 Executive Editor Pranjit Saikia and ‘Anchal’ chairman Diganta Das at a function held at Hotel Landmark. This year, the rally has received overwhelming response as it saw participation of altogether 26 teams including 15 teams from Kolkata, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram and Ranchi and one team from Sikkim.
The rally is orgaised with the motto of creating awareness on Road Safety. The TSD Rally is based on TIME-SPEED-DISTANCE. The teams have to cover a specified distance at a specified speed within a specified time. Unlike other adrenaline-rushing rallies, the TSD rally is a rally where the teams have to travel at a speed between 10 KM-40 KM through difficult roads.
