New Delhi: Kirori Mal College , Delhi University in collaboration  with StayPawsitive Trust, today unveiled an innovative technology-driven initiative to protect and care for Delhi’s stray dogs.

The launch marks a pioneering partnership between an educational institution and an animal-welfare nonprofit to combine empathy, youth action, and digital tools for humane stray management. As compassion Meets technology, the initiative introduces a mobile application to document and monitor stray dogs across Delhi. The app enables real-time tracking, medical alerts, and health records, ensuring that each registered dog receives timely vaccinations, treatment, and ongoing care.

To strengthen on-ground impact, the program includes free vaccination drives and the distribution of QR-coded digital ID collars. These collars allow instant scanning for each dog’s health and vaccination status, creating a citywide safety net for both animals and residents.

“Kirori Mal College is proud to collaborate with ‘Stay Pawsitive’ on this vital pet vaccination drive. This initiative is a testament to our college’s commitment to social responsibility and compassion for all living beings. By providing free vaccinations and digital collars, we are not only ensuring the health of the stray animals on our campus but also setting a precedent for a more humane and responsible community. We are confident that this event will inspire other institutions to take similar steps towards animal welfare.” Said Professor Dinesh Khattar, Principal of Karori Mal College .

“Kirori Mal College has been a nurturing home not only for academics but also for innovation and social responsibility. The initiative of Project Pawscout for dog and animal welfare under Bhoomi – The Eco Club is a step forward in fostering empathy and compassion, while reflecting the core values the institution.:” he said.

StayPawsitive Trust Co-Founder Kshipra Jha emphasized the blend of empathy and innovation: “Delhi’s stray dogs are part of our shared ecosystem. This project brings technology and youth engagement together to create a safer environment for animals and residents alike.” Co-Founder Sandeep Sapra highlighted the civic partnership:

“Citizen participation is key. Working with the energetic students of KMC’s Student Bhoomi Club shows how communities, technology, and governance can join forces for lasting impact.” He said

Students of KMC Student club  Bhoomi – The Eco Club will lead app-based data collection, assist veterinary teams during on-campus vaccination camps, and spearhead public awareness campaigns encouraging responsible interaction with stray animals.
