CM distributed cheque to STGs

Jorhat : Assam Tea Growers asked to maintain quality of their tea product which has a historic contribution since the British era as Assam tea is famous for its taste by maintaining Ek Kali Do Patta which still exist but still there is a big dream to grab berth at the International market, so Assam Small Tea Growers has very important role to play to maintain quality as there is over 1 lakh  STGs whose contribution is 55%. They play a very important role for the upliftment of state economy, so a Training Cell will start at Tocklai, said Sarbananda Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam during a Ceremonial Inauguration of Training Cell of the Small Tea Growers on quality in 101 block and Distribution ceremony of Incentive to Small Tea Growers of Assam at a glittering function held at the Dr. Madhab Chandra Das memorial auditorium organized jointly by the  Department of Industry and commerce and Tocklai Tea Research Association here today.

Chief Minister said his government has taken all possible steps to make the state one of the top most develop state, so following with several scientific, realistic planning has been adopted and for the adaptation of STGs which plays a very decisive role which could come into reality though work culture and hard work for which one has to be mentally prepared. My government is giving equal status to all respective districts for their developments which I have experienced in two years nine month tenure which we have shown with the initiative from the Prime Minister of India to abolish encroachment, corruption and to fight unitedly and with such a step corruption like in APSC has been washed off, lots of tinted APSC officials has been derailed which we feel under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi we have done a little Poribortan, said the Chief Minister of Assam.

Chandra Mohan Patwary, the minister of Industry and Commerce who attended as the Guest of Honour on the occasion, too called upon the growers to maintain the quality of tea as the future of the tea industry lies in the hands of 1.55 lakh small tea growers. He said, the process of blending Assam tea by other tea grower state will be stopped by imposing GIS marking so that nobody could mix Bengal tea with Assam tea, for that the reason you STGs has a very responsible role to play.

A total of 160 STGs from various districts were distributed cheque as Incentives ranging from 1 lakh to 10 lakh which was handed over in presence of Tapan Gogoi-the Power Minster, MP Jorhat-Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Prabhat Kamal Bezbaruah, Dr. Anup Kumar Barooah, Tocklai Chairman and Director respectively and Ravi Kapoor, Rima Katharpy, Commissioner, secretary, department of Commerce and Industry, Government of Assam, Roshni Aparanjita Korati and Vaibhav Nimbalkar, the Jorhat Dc, SP respectively.
