Pune: This September, Aafreen at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park brings the flavours of Maharashtra to the table with a special Satvik Thali, available from Sept 6 to Sept 13. Curated by Senior Chef Vasant Naik, the seven-day offering draws from family recipes passed down through generations, celebrating the simplicity and depth of traditional Maharashtrian home cooking.
The meal begins with Solkadhi, a refreshing coconut and kokum preparation, followed by Varan, a comforting Maharashtrian dal, and a seasonal Satvik Sabzi prepared with locally sourced ingredients.
A selection of Bhat Bhakri and steamed rice forms the heart of the meal, accompanied by house-made Ghee and Solachya Paanache Lonche, a tangy raw mango pickle that adds a bright note to the spread.
No Maharashtrian feast is complete without Puran Poli, a traditional sweet flatbread with a jaggery and lentil filling. The meal concludes with Modak, steamed rice dumplings filled with jaggery and coconut.
Served in Aafreen’s warm setting and accompanied by traditional music, the Satvik Thali offers a wholesome vegetarian celebration of Maharashtrian flavours, family recipes and culinary heritage.
