GUWAHATI : In Assam, sitting Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is furious to see his picture on a hoarding paying homage to late former Assam Chief Minister Gopinath Bordoloi. Himanta Biswa Sarma herself shared the hoarding on Twitter and wrote that she does not like such branding. In fact, the hoarding picture shared by the CM shows tributes paid to late former Assam Chief Minister Gopinath Bordoloi. A small picture of the former CM is seen in this hoarding while a big picture of Himanta Baswa Sarma has been put up in this hoarding. The late CM has been given very little space in the hoarding while the present Chief Minister seems to be the one who is looking over the hoarding. The hoarding was put up on the death anniversary of former chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi.

But Sarma did not like her picture in this hoarding. He shared it on Twitter and wrote, ‘I don’t like this kind of branding at any cost. Instructions have been issued that no picture of me should be used without the permission of my office from now on.Instructions have been issued not to use my picture from now on without prior approval of my office. Early last month, a major debate broke out in Assam, when banners appeared in the city of Guwahati, wishing Lovleena Borgohen all the best for her Olympic Games. Though the banners were for Lovlina, she was nowhere to be seen on them. Instead, locals saw pictures of ministers themselves on banners. Assam ministers including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma were severely criticised by the people of the state for their “self-publicity” banners.
