APDCL helped Darrang to earn ‘PM Excellence Award’

MANGALDAI : APDCL, Mangaldai has set an example for other govt agencies when their hard work helped Darrang to earn Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration, 2019″ Meanwhile the news of selection of Darrang district for this award in implementation of “Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana “SAUBHAGYA” in the group North East & Hill States has delighted the officials and staff of APDCL, Mangaldai Electrical Division (MED), the performing agency of the “SAUBHAGYA” scheme. According to sources in the APDCL , MED the scheme was implemented across 564 villages of the aspirational district Darrang from the month April ,2018 till the year 2019 where 72,005 un-electrified households out of the total 1.42,506 households were connected with electricity.

Talking to ANN on April 16, Pranjal Kataki , AGM (Distribution) , APDCL, MED who was a part of the initiative at that time stated that it was the concerted hard work of all the stake holders including APDCL officials, administration, local contractors under the constant supervision and monitoring of the National Level Monitors (NLM) from Delhi . “ I remember during the Rongali bihu the target was set under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) for transformation of aspirationall districts’ programme. Amarjit Sarma the then AGM , Rural Electrification (RE) , Monitoring was mostly responsible while the then DGMs of the Mangaldai Electrical Circle, I and our fellow managers of the respective Electrical Sub Divisions offered necessary support under the regular guidance of our higher authorities in Guwahati’’ “ NLMs were specially deputed for special monitoring. Prabhari officer kept on reviewing things at ground level through regular field visits The works were carried out in a war footing manner even after the dusk with an increased no of man power .There were interventions of the advance technology for constant monitoring and resolving the grievances without any delay. ”, AGM, Kataki included. Earlier a press release issued by the DIPRO,Darrang on April 12 evening quoting Darrang Deputy Commissioner stated that the award will be presented in central celebration of the Civil Services Day 2022 on 20th and 21st April, 2022, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
