GUWAHATI : In different operations, troops of Border Security Force under Guwahati Frontier apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers and rescued 500 cattle heads from the bordering areas of District Coochbehar (West Bengal), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) On intervening night of 24/25 Sept’ 2020. Acting on tip off, on 25 Sept’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP Balabhut of 62 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Balabhut, PS- Tufanganj, Distt- Coochbehar (West Bengal) and apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
Apprehended cattle smuggler is identified as Kurban Ali (32 Yrs), S/O- Abdul Sabur, Vill- Charka Danga, PS- South Salmara, Distt- Dhubri (Assam). Apprehended cattle smuggler along with cattle heads have been handed over to PS-Tufanganj, Distt-Coochbehar (West Bengal) for further legal action. In second operation, acting on tip off, on 24 Sept’ 2020, troops of BSF BOP Deepchar of 06 Bn BSF under Guwahati Frontier carried out a special operation in general area of village Deepchar, PS- Kharuabandha, Distt- Dhubri (Assam) and apprehended one Indian cattle smuggler along with cattle heads, while these were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. Apprehended cattle smuggler is identified as Sainur Islam (19 Yrs) S/o Akattar, Vill -Deepchar, PO – Puran Diara, PS-Kharuabandha, Distt- Dhubri (Assam).
Apprehended cattle smuggler along with cattle heads have been handed over to PS- Kharuabandha, Distt-Dhubri (Assam) for further legal action. Besides above, vigilant Seema Praharis of BSF have also rescued 100 Nos cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Distt Coochbehar (WB), Dhubri & South Salmara (Assam) while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. BSF troops are always alert towards the issues of trans-border crimes and illegal infiltration and are making all endeavours to contain such trans-border crimes.
