GUWAHATI : The Assam NGO Assam Public Works (APW) has lodged an FIR against former NRC state coordinator Pratik Hajela. In the said FIR lodged with the Additional Director General of Police, CID, several serious allegations have been levelled against Hajela. He is alleged to have committed a massive scam in the family tree with the help of some officers belonging to the minority community to include the names of foreign infiltrators in the NRC.
On the lines of APW, the State Government is also not satisfied with the final list of NRC. The state government has demanded the Supreme Court to re-inspect the NRC in the districts bordering Bangladesh in the state. Looking at the present government’s attitude towards illegal infiltrators, it seems that the NRC genie is going to come out of the bottle once again. The FIR filed by The APW against Pratik Hajela is being seen as an initiative of this episode.
