Army vows to eliminate North-East terrorist group

GUWAHATI :Lt Gen Manoj Pandey, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Army Command today visited arunachal pradesh’s capital The Governor met Brigadier (Retd) Dr BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar and discussed about protecting borders and civil-army connectivity for better cooperation. Talking to reporters after the meeting, the Lt Gen of the Eastern Army Command said that with the help of China and Pakistan, the Indian Army will not release any terrorist organizations that cause unrest in the north-eastern state of the country. Talking to reporters, he said that the Army has vowed to eliminate the terrorist group in the North East.

Meanwhile, the Governor appreciated the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of eastern army command, especially for maintaining the territorial integrity of the nation in Arunachal Pradesh. Mishra has also thanked the Army Commander for his visits and arrangements for interaction with the troops in forward areas. The Governor emphasized that army units should adopt villages and schools along with their major responsibility of protecting borders and organize medical camps in their area. Such an initiative of the Army will help in curbing the migration of indigenous population from the border areas, he said. The initiative will, at the same time, strengthen goodwill for soldiers among the local population.

 Pandey informed that the army again foiled the attempt to paint in an attempt to end the insurgency of the North East helping China and Pakistan in Changlang, Tirup and Longding districts of Assam and Arunachal. In a move to stop rangadari in the district, the Lekhapani Battalion arrested the most wanted Revenue Secretary of ENG as well as 3 other hardcore cadres from Namfai-II area of Miao Circle in Changlang district. The ENGG cadres have been identified as Wangjen Pangtha, Hunsengla Semai, Mopai and Nyalu Pangsa. Security forces recovered a set of Motorola phones, 5 basic phones, 2 smartphones, 8 SIM cards and forex along with the charger. According to army sources, the cadres were involved in demanding rangadari in Miyao and Kharsang circles. He was captured on the basis of strong human and electronic input established by the Indian Army. Timely action by security forces in thwarting the extortion network has been appreciated by the local public and civil administration.
