Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday met the Dalai Lama. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu seeks blessings of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. The Arunachal Pradesh chief minister met the Dalai Lama at the Kalachakra ground in Bodh Gaya where a Buddhist teaching programme was underway. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, “It was a privilege to attend the long-term prayer ceremony given to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama by the Gelug Tibetan Buddhist tradition in Bodh Gaya, Bihar.” The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh said: “Gratitude to His Holiness for his teachings to the world. We wish you a long life and good health. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu also extended an invitation to the Dalai Lama to visit the border state. “It is heartening that His Holiness accepted our invitation to visit Arunachal Pradesh to bless us,” Chief Minister Pema Khandu said.Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today attended the Dalai Lama’s discourse.

After that, he reached the Mahabodhi temple and saw Lord Buddha. After that, he visited all the places of the building being built in Arunachal Pradesh in Bodh Gaya and inquired about the progress of the work. During this time he saw the map of the under-construction building. Earlier, Arunachal Guest House CareTaker Uday Shankar welcomed the Chief Minister with a holy khada. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said that there are a large number of buddhists in Arunachal Pradesh. When he comes to bodh gaya Dalai Lama’s program, he has problems with staying. In view of that, we talked to the state government. The state government had given permission to work by giving land on its behalf. After which the construction work of the building of Arunachal Guest House is going on. If the guest house is ready, it will be easier for Buddhist followers to stay.

 Meanwhile, a suspected Chinese woman was detained by the Bihar Police in Bodh Gaya on Sunday in connection with the alleged threat to the Dalai Lama.According to ADG JS Gangwar, who confirmed the incident to ANI, they are currently being questioned. Police detained a suspected (Chinese) woman in Bodh Gaya in connection with her alleged threat to Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama. He is being interrogated,” the ADG said. The Dalai Lama resumed his annual visit to Bodh Gaya this year after being postponed for the last two years due to the Covid outbreak.
