Assam Chief Minister wants Ban on PFI

Guwahati: Amid the ongoing protests over the hijab issue, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has demanded a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI). “Assam requested the Government of India to ban PFI. They are directly associated with subversive activities. They are meeting the fanatics. Sarma has also reacted to the FIR lodged in Hyderabad against him after his remarks on Rahul Gandhi.

 He did not pay heed to the FIR and said, “What difference does the FIR make? The FIR is also here. Have I drunk milk in the milk pot? About the Popular Front of India, it is said that it is a hardcore Islamic organization. There have been some sensational revelations about it. The National Investigation Agency has been looking for contacts of the outfit with ISIS and SIMI. Agencies have also been getting some shocking information in its bar.The PFI is said to have been working for its Kerala module ISIS. From there, its members joined ISIS in Syria and Iraq. When there were violent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in Delhi and several states of the country, the PFI was said to be behind it, in UP, the police then arrested several members of the PFI.
