In Assam, nearly 15 lakh people are reeling under the fury of floods in 21 districts. Official sources said that 33 persons lost their lives in the rain related incidents so far. The surging water caused damages to infrastructure facilities including roads, embankments and culverts. Nearly 15 thousand people have been shifted to relief camps. Flood waters also submerged parts of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries.
