Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga has expressed happiness with the Central Government giving extension of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for next five months. While addressing the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared the extension of PMGKAY from 1st of July to 30th November.
In a tweet, Chief Minister Zoramthanga thanked Prime Minister Modi for the extension of the PMGKAY. He also thanked the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan for this initiative.
Under the PMGKAY, all beneficiaries under Antodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and Priority Household (PHH) are provided additional food grains of rice or wheat at five kilograms per person per month free of cost.
